[jira] [Commented] (TWILL-61) Second launch attempt of AM always
failed
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TWILL-61?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16392215#comment-16392215 ]
Terence Yim commented on TWILL-61:
----------------------------------
There are two ZK nodes involved that fails the second attempt
# The {{/[appName]/[runId]/runnables}} persistent node. We create ignore the node exists exception on creation.
# Kafka fails to create the ephemeral node for the broker id
{noformat}
Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: A broker is already registered on the path /brokers/ids/1. This probably indicates that you either have configured a brokerid that is already in use, or else you have shutdown this broker and restarted it faster than the zookeeper timeout so it appears to be re-registering.{noformat}

> YARN would make multiple attempts to launch an application. Currently second or above attempts would always fail due to creation of /runId/state node in ZK fail (node exists) because runId is generated on client side and doesn't change between attempts.
