Setting up LDAP CentOS7

I’ve had trouble getting LDAP to work on my CentOS7 Guacamole Box. I have one for production which we currently use local accounts and a testing HyperV box. I’ve been following the instructions from the google doc list here, and the Guacamole Documentation Listed below the google link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WD87zGuZuVlaoZvQb1VC4HNfu2cAKgFY2mDMScBSMeg/edit?pli=1#<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WD87zGuZuVlaoZvQb1VC4HNfu2cAKgFY2mDMScBSMeg/edit?pli=1>
http://guacamole.incubator.apache.org/doc/gug/ldap-auth.html#ldap-schema-changes

I’ve done everything in these tutorials except changing the schema. I recently set LDAP up for another service we run. So I have all the information I need on hand still.
I’m new to Linux, so I’ve had a hard time navigating the tutorials. Just looking for some guidance or pointers on how to get LDAP up and running successfully.

Thanks!

Hi Thiago!

Thanks for sending that over! I took a look at your instructions, and it seems like I have everything the same… I attached a screenshot of my guacamole.properties from GUACAMOLE_HOME before I followed your instructions, and the second screenshot is after I followed your instructions. We keep our service accounts for items like this in a separate OU, and I’m just trying to sync that for now as a test. But once I see that it works. I would like to sync the Big OU that houses all of our users. This is the URL I followed to get my guacamole installed. https://thatservernerd.com/2016/02/25/install-guacamole-on-centos-76-the-super-easy-way/ Works great, gives you nginx and everything bundled in a nice package.

Just got done testing and, it still won’t connect/allow users LDAP users to log in. Ill revert back to a fresh install and try it again and maybe that will work!

Hi Carter,

We've implemented LDAP (Active Directory) without schema changing, We've written a tutorial (in portuguese) where you can find step-by-step integration (MySql + LDAP)
