[jira] Commented: (DERBY-1670) Remove optional osgi.jar download by including equivalent jar from the apache incubator felix project in the Derby's svn

Rick Hillegas commented on DERBY-1670:
--------------------------------------

Felix has graduated from the incubator. I think that means that the IP issues have been settled and that the felix jars are distributed under the Apache license. To include the felix jar in the Derby build, I think that all we have to do is to copy the osgi copyright statement from the Felix NOTICE file into the Derby NOTICE file. Does that sound correct?

> Just like the other ASF jars included in Derby's svn tree for compilation. (tools/java)
> Need to verify that the IP is clear on the contribution, the incubator status page seems to say that, but need to verify
> the initial contribution software grant confirms the licence switch to ALv2
