SVN & ClearQuest

Any experiences out there with Integrating SVN and ClearQuest in relation to Tags - or any other possibilities with integrating SVN with ClearQuest.

Initial idea is that they don't integrate well and can prove to be difficult.

Thanks,

Here they claim they do integrate:

No idea how well, though.

RE: SVN & ClearQuest

Hi John,

After a little bit of experimenting at Shell, the best/quickest/easiest
way to integrate Subversion and ClearQuest I found is actually via
TortoiseSVN. By setting a few properties on a directory you can get
TortoiseSVN to: a) prompt you for a CQ ACR ID upon commit, b)
automatically prepend the ID to the start of commit logs and c) format
the CQ IDs into URLs that can be used with QuickLink (such that you can
click on an ID, i.e. HOU0000056, and have the ClearQuest form open
directly). See the attached screenshots for examples, which depict a
directory that has had the following properties set (this was for
London, you'd need to tweak the server name and parameters for Houston):

% svn pl -v http://walbh-s-6014.europe.shell.com/svn/lon
Properties on 'lon':
  bugtraq:label : ClearQuest ACR ID:
  bugtraq:url :
http://onweb.europe.shell.com/redirect.cqopen?dbset=2003.06.00&db=LON&ty
pe=application_change&id=%BUGID%
  bugtraq:message : ClearQuest ACR ID: %BUGID%
  bugtraq:append : false
  bugtraq:number : false
  bugtraq:warnifnoissue : true

(You may want to have a word with the Apps Excellence team in London to
see what their CQ/svn plans are, I believe they've got a couple of
things in the pipeline. I've BCC'd them on this e-mail.)

Regards,

    Trent.
