Avro is a format: https://avro.apache.org/

There is already implementation that support Avor in files in BeamSQL: https://github.com/apache/beam/tree/master/sdks/java/extensions/sql/src/main/java/org/apache/beam/sdk/extensions/sql/meta/provider/avro


For Pubsub, currently we support JSON format only.
