Initial code import & web-site questions

Guys,

I am pretty sure the community is doing its best to get the initial code drop
happen. I have a question about timing though: how realistical is that to have
the code in the git before the next IPMC report?

Same goes for the website? Any chance to have at least a trivial landing page
that will have a pointer to existing github code and a status message of some
kind?

Thanks,
  Cos

Thanks man! Just to reiterate our off-line chat: Roman will open a JIRA
tickets so that Ignite website is hooked-up to CMS-based publishing.

Still having troubles committing. Appreciate if you can take a stab at it. The
file is pretty simple as you can see

<html>
<body>
<h2>Apache Ignite (incubating). Website is coming on 12/10/2014....</h2>
</body>
</html>

I was trying to add a simple landing page (attached), but SVN rejects me for
the ignite site at http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/ignite

    svn: E175013: Commit failed (details follow):
    svn: E175013: Access to '/repos/asf/!svn/me' forbidden

Can any of the mentors/members try to do it so we have a page in place?

Thanks for the explanation Dmitriy.

bit delayed - instead of last night it should be submitted today.

The main issue is splitting up our repository in two, enterprise and
apache. For this to go smoothly we need to make sure that:

   1. All outstanding branches are closed, because they won't be merge-able
   after the split. This is the biggest cause for the delay, as we have a
   couple of outstanding branches with code changes across the whole project.
   2. All CI tests for both, enterprise and apache, must continue to pass.
   3. Both, enterprise and apache projects are buildable and testable on
   day 1.

Having said that, we are planing to do the migration today.

+1 to that! That also has a potential benefit of letting you
d&c the job of cleaning it all up. If you are worried about
not polluting the master/trunk you can always do it on
a different branch.

Which goes in the same venue as my earlier probing: why not to have a simple
landing web-page and move towards a better site in the open?

Hopefully right now it is nothing but a reflection considering that at this
point we are perhaps 2 days away from both of those two events.

Just a question: what's stopping you from just importing the code as-is
and making any necessary modifications (e.g., license headers and so on)
in the ASF repository?

Sorry if this was already discussed, but I couldn't find a concrete
answer in the list archives.

We are working very hard to do both, code and website, by this Friday.
Unless something drastic happens, we should be able to hit the deadline.
