   ### Describe the Bug
   
   When the reader has scrolled away from the bottom, ChatThread increments its unread badge by exactly one whenever the total bubble count grows. A timeline page or refreshed transcript can add several messages in the same render, so the badge undercounts the messages that arrived. The component's documented contract is one count per message.
   
   ### Steps to Reproduce
   
   1. Render a conversation with one visible bubble and scroll away from the bottom.
   2. Append three persisted bubbles in one timeline update.
   3. The jump-to-latest badge displays 1 rather than 3.
   
   ### Expected Behavior
   
   Increment by the positive change in bubble count. Same-size streaming updates and decreases should not add unread messages, and jumping to the bottom should clear the count.
   
   ### Verification Plan
   
   Component regression for a batch arrival followed by same-size/decreasing updates and another batch.
