[jira] [Commented] (OOZIE-1766) Add default JT/NN/Hive properties

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OOZIE-1766?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14049827#comment-14049827 ]

Jeremy Beard commented on OOZIE-1766:
-------------------------------------

OOZIE-874 addresses 'global' properties within a workflow, though what I am looking for here are equivalent Oozie properties for a cluster so that in nearly all workflows there does not need to be a mention of the NN/JT/hive-site/etc.

> There is considerable redundancy is repeating the JT, NN and various Hive (hive-site.xml, HS2 principal, HS2 JDBC URL, HMS principal, HMS JDBC URL) properties in the workflows of an application. Not including these properties is also a common source of workflow error.
> It would be easier for developers if this could be set in one place, or maybe just taken from the *-site.xmls, and used as overridable defaults across Oozie.
