I "wrote" a presentation with mp3 videos in 2013 which I now need. As soon as
the slide with the video comes up in the slide preview column, Impress crashes
and Windows tells me that OO has stopped working. At the moment I cannot use
the file as I cannot access the "offending" slides to delete and replace them.

I was not able to reproduce the crash:
1) Open a new presentation
2) Insert > Movie and Sound and select puredun.avi
3) Save as ODP
4) Run slide show (F5)
Result: diaporama run video with no problem.

The faulty file is 1414kBso it may not have reace=hed you.

I have since tried to repeat adding a video to an impress file using
Insert
Movie and Sound
File.avi or file.mp4
and then Impress stops working and Windows 7 tries to find a solution.
The original file with the mp4 or avi worked superbly. I have thought that
perhaps I should reinstall OO.
I will try and attach the video files that cause the crash.
The file is too big but may be found at

MP3 or any media file can not be embedded in an ODP.
So, provide an external link to this file.

What file exactly?
- interdun.avi 6.5M
- largedun.avi 6.1M
- puredun.avi 9.5M
- smalldun.avi 6.7M
Save time for us and could you be more explicit?
