Nivedita:
I suggest you download a fresh Tomcat 5.0.28 distribution
(jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28.zip) from Apache.
The original distribution has these three jars in this location. Not sure
why yours is mangled.

xalan.jar was not present in Tomcat's common/endorsed but was present in
roller/WEB-INF/lib
i removed xalan.jar frm roller lib and placed it in Tomcat's common/endorsed
.But still no difference.

Some things to try:
(1) check that you have:
xalan.jar
xercesImpl.jar
xml-apis.jarin Tomcat's common/endorsed directory (and not elsewhere).(2) try the latest 1.4 JDK from Sun (1.4.2_13)? ----- Original Message -----

Application server:Tomcat 5.0.28
Database:Mysql 5.0
Java: 1.4.1_02
O.S:Windows NT 2000
Browser:Internet Explorer
I have already tried clearing the work directory but still the Configuration
page is not displayed.

Nivedita:
In addition to providing these specifics, please try stopping Tomcat and
clearing out the "work" directory just under the Tomcat home, then
restarting.

I haven't seen that error before, so I wonder:
- What Application Server version are you using?
- What database are you using?
- What Java version are you using?
- What operating system are you using?
- If applicable, what browser are you using?"
