Description:
tools.jar has to be added as an explicit dependency in project.xml if java:compile is to find the classes, and (as I see it) there is no good way to do that, as it, among other things would bind you to an specific JDK release.

Another workaround would be adding tools.jar to $CLASSPATH, but that doesn't seem to help. Works out of the box on Darwin as the Apple JDK adds tools.jar implicitly to the classpath.

This might not be a real problem as I don't know the handling of tools.jar was intended to work.
