Help with adding a new font to FOP

I need to add POSTNET font to FOP. I tried to folow instructions on
xml.apache.org under "Font Support" section of FOP.

I have generated the font metrics xml file from .ttf file.

To register this font with FOP I believe I need to add the below lines to
userconfig.xml :
<font metrics-file="/fonts/postnet.xml" kerning="yes"
embed-file="/fonts/postnet.ttf"> <font-triplet name="postnet" style="normal"
weight="normal"> </font>
 Here are my questions:
1. What is <font-triplet> tag ? Doesn't it need an end tag ?
2. Where exactly in userconfig.xml will I place these lines ? Instructions
say '"under fonts section", I do not see any font section. Also config.dtd
does not mention any font stuff.
I would greatly appreciate your help as I need to complete my project soon.

I tried to address this to you directly also as I saw a lot of your mails
answering similar questions. Please let me know if I should not have done
this.

the font triplet specifies the font more precisely than merely it's name and
location: if you have bold text, it's postnet, bold, normal, ifyou have have
italic, it's postnet, italic, normal, you get the idea. It needs a closing
slash like everything else.

There should be a tag named <fonts>. If there isn't, create it, it goes under
the <configuration> element
