how to lock a pipeline?

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to lock the access to a pipeline while that pipeline is being executed? I want to use a pipeline as a shared resource: when a user calls that pipeline from the browser, the pipeline is locked until it finish its execution and then it is unlocked, being available again for another user. Can this be done in an action?
