Fragment caching?
Hi,
Is it true that fragments are cached by id over multiple psml pages?
I had two fragments in different psmls with the same id referencing two different portlets from the same portlet app. I was experiencing that the init-param configuration from portlet.xml was exactly the same. I was also experiencing that if the fragment's name reference to the portlet was a non-existing one, still the (other) portlet was shown, no error came up.
Changing one of the fragment id's solved this.

However.. the fragment preferences may differ!
We have that case in which two fragments have the same id and reference the same portlet but with different fragment preferences, and that work out fine!
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,
Yes, since fragments can be cached internally, the ids must be unique if the fragments are to be treated differently. (See http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/guides/guide-psml.html#Portlet_Fragments)
