Exception while using SocketAppender

Hello,
Iam trying to run the example program in log4j, under
jakarta-log4j-1.2.7/examples.
when i run the program Sort.java using SocketAppender
config file sort3.properties , in the SocketSErver
side it gives me "populating array elements" & then it
throws an java.IOException.OptionalDataExecption, due
to which the connection gets terminated.Can any one
help me reg this.
