Not working for me on Linux either.  Yes, it does appear to be linking
with -ldb, but the 3.3.11 install on my box actually created these
symlinks (in /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.3/lib):

   libdb.so    -> libdb-3.3.so
   libdb3.so   -> libdb-3.3.so

So, I'm still not sure what's wrong.
