The Apache Maven team has decided to retire the maven-eclipse-plugin, so this issue won't be fixed.

> Here is a small patch to modify the eclipse.skip option. Instead of completely disabling the plugin, it will just skip the writing of the updated project files. This way, you still have a simple way to download source artifacts without messing with your .classpath/.project files.
