[users@httpd] foreign characters in file/directory names

Hi all,

I am supposed to take over a site where a lot of file/directory names 
has spaces and foreign (Swedish) characters in their names. From a brief 
test run, it became clear that the configuration we use does not allow this.

Is there a way to tell apache 1.3 how to handle names like this?
