Last commit removed extensive debug logging from make_installer.pl.  This
logging is not used by default and there is hardly anyone left who would know
how to interpret the output.  The debug logging just makes make_installer.pl
harder to read.

Debug logging can, of course, still be added on a case-by-case basis.
