cannot open ant 1.6.5 zip file
hey,
I try to download apache-ant-1.6.5-bin.zip apache ant from
http://archive.apache.org/dist/ant/binaries/ since two days ago. But the
downloading completed when i downloaded till 4.808MB. When i try to open
the zip file using WinZip, it prompt me the error as below:
" Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again."
the output error file is "End-of-central-directory signature not found.
Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a
multi-part Zip file"
I have try to download 1.6.4 and 1.6.0 but all shows the error as above.
Pls help.

I used ant 1.7.0 with seam last year without a problem.

I dont think that Seam cant work with Ant 1.7.0 as we try to be
backwards compatible.
* If an earlier buildfile doesnt work with a newer Ant version, this is
an error.
* Changes in the Java API 'might' be backwards incompatible, but we try
to avoid that.
A quick search gave me a blog which shows setting up Seam with Ant 1.7.0

Also you could try a newer version: 1.7.0.

Attack of the Giga Ants...
BTT: The apache-ant-1.6.5-bin.zip should be 9.835 KB big (say 10 MB), so
the download is just not complete and the archive is corrupted. I tried
this too with Firefox today, it's corrupt too (downloaded size around
4.8 MB), so the problem is most probably not on your side.
So, who's the maintainer? It looks like an old error to me.

There are known file size limitations when downloading via Internet Explorer
(IE) 6 and 7. More specifically, IE 6 has a 2GB file size limit, and IE 7
has a 4GB file size limit. TRy downloading files using other browser like
firefox
