[jira] [Created] (ARROW-9155) [Archery] Less precise but faster default settings for "archery benchmark diff"

Wes McKinney created ARROW-9155:
-----------------------------------

             Summary: [Archery] Less precise but faster default settings for "archery benchmark diff"
                 Key: ARROW-9155
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-9155
             Project: Apache Arrow
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: C++
            Reporter: Wes McKinney
             Fix For: 1.0.0

The default settings for "archery benchmark" in my opinion are a bit too exhaustive in their attempt to produce high precision numbers. I suggest that the default sacrifice precision for speed, while leaving the "neurotic" / high-precision mode as something that users can opt in to.

This would ease interactive use for developers
