Apache 2.0a4?

Are we rolling the 4th alpha today? I am in the middle of re-vamping the
config stuff to play nicer together, and I would love to commit some stuff
later today, but this is a relatively large change, and I want to make
sure I don't commit just before the alpha.

On the same note, what is the status with the BugDB? Are we posting a new
2.0 bug DB or are we just using GNATS? Regardless, is somebody going to
move the current 2.0 bugs to the new DB?

Ryan

I don't know who's rolling the alpha, and I can't get my gnu win32
tar to behave, so attached is a zip file of the final .mak files
for this alpha. As soon as it's tagged and rolled, I'm ready to
break (a few minor service things in) Win32.

We don't maintain these in the tree, and I see little reason to
commit/remove them every time, unless others disagree.

In a true binary release, we would not only include these .mak
files, but the executables as well. It will become a trivial
step in rolling the Win32 release. But for today...

Thanks to whomever

Bill

OK, chatting with Brian B. here, this is our hive mind opinion. :)

How about using GNATS for now? I haven't seen what the
current problems are, if any.

Brian and me (mostly Brian) are playing with a locus replacement box,
which will have bugzilla installed, hopefully in a safe way.

I've done most of it but not committed it since I don't have karma for
that. I wrote to some of the people with karma to CVSROOT and will finish
it when they've given me karma to apache-2.0.

Please go ahead and commit anything you think should go in. It's an
alpha(!).

What's going on with this? With the latest commits, we should be good to
go.

Please go ahead and roll, both Bill and I would like to wait to commit
more code (at least that's how I read his last message).

Please put your key in the Apache KEYS file. I try to sign it as soon as
you commit the file. Also, your key should probably be put into the 1.3
KEYS file so they are kept in sync.

+1 to do it asap.

Not sure who would do this. Don't even know how :-)

1.3 should be above 2.0, regardless of the bug db situation. 1.3 is usable
and is what most people are going to be interested in seeing and using.

I'm getting ready to roll it. If you and Bill wants to commit some more
stuff I can wait a few days too. You can also just commit it and let it
roll in to a4. It is an alpha after all. :)

It would make sense if someone else from apache could sign my key, I've
put it on locus in ~ask/asks.asc ... I guess that we can trust our shared
box there enough for it to be reasonable to sign.

And until the bugdb situation is sorted out I think we should put 1.3.12
above 2.0a on the httpd.html page. (We don't really want more users when
we can't even take their bug reports, do we?)

Sounds like your second Q answers your first :-)

On Win32 I'm waiting till after a4 to commit the mpm services
modules into the build, unless someone else screams otherwise.

I'd say wait for the alpha to go out. While waiting for that to complete,
you can post a patch to your change :-)

No idea what's up with this. Who's in charge?! :-)
