Bill Farner commented on AURORA-1199:
-------------------------------------

Perhaps we could even refuse to start the scheduler if the backup interval is less than the leading duration.

> Key: AURORA-1199
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AURORA-1199
> Project: Aurora
> Issue Type: Story
> Components: Scheduler
> Affects Versions: 0.7.0
> Reporter: Bhuvan Arumugam
> Priority: Minor
>
> If {{--max-leading-duration}} is 1 day, the failover happen every 24hrs. If {{--backup-interval}} is 1 hr, the backup is taken every 1hr. The backup is not taken during failover. For example, if failover happen at 22:10 hrs, last backup was taken at 21:10 hrs in previous leader. The next backup is taken at 23:10 hrs in new leader. The backup is missing for 22:10 hrs.
> I think we should take a backup immediately after the failover.
