[jira] [Created] (GEODE-6568) Use OpenSSL from local install,
rather than download/build
Blake Bender created GEODE-6568:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Use OpenSSL from local install, rather than download/build
Key: GEODE-6568
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GEODE-6568
Project: Geode
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: native client
Reporter: Blake Bender
What we've been doing is technically more correct, but building OpenSSL from source in the tree virtually ensures that we end up requiring a version that is newer than the 'compatible' version installed onto any Linux box we're using. Switching to assuming OpenSSL is installed on the system will also allow us to support (with a little effort) a range of versions of the library as well.
