Debugging servlets and JSPs

How do I debug deployed servlets/JSPs? I tried launching tomcat with the
following and it hung:

java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,se
rver=y,address=8000

Any ideas? I am debugging on the same machine as Tomcat so I'd rather use
the dt_shmem.

Servlets Context and Tomcat

Posted by ARNOD-PRIN Samuel <sa...@marvel.ch>.
I am discovering servlets
and could someone tell me if it is a good idea to use a servlet context
in order to store an application...
(in fact a big tree with a lot of methods available on the tree)
would it be slow in performance or is it the goal ?

what could I use anyway ?

I have to allow servlets/jsp to "ask" to my loaded objects (they load
from a database, so it takes time)

thanx for helping..
