   This PR is addressing an entirely different requirement - to track hits per remap rule to give visibility and insights into how to better organize/reorder the remaps. 
   
   FWICT, `remap_stats` seems to emit a bunch of metrics (statuses, bytes etc) per request domain/host. A given domain/host can and typically does have multiple remap rules (e.g different path prefixes). The `remap_stats` does not provide data at the remap rule level granularity .
