   Hi there @blackhawk28 your best bet is to:
   
   - Use SQL Lab to write your query that does whatever you want (join tables, rename columns, perform aggregates, etc)
   - Once your SQL query looks good, click Explore and give this new virtual dataset a name
   - Then, you'll be taken to Explore view and this virtual dataset will be the INPUT to the Explore viz picker.
   - Finalize by picking the chart type you want, customizing the chart, and publishing to a dashboard if you'd like
