[PR] fix(cache): fall back to default timeout when cache_timeout is None [superset]

NoiceHax opened a new pull request, #43149:
URL: https://github.com/apache/superset/pull/43149

   fix(cache): fall back to default timeout when cache_timeout is None

   ## Testing

   Added three tests to tests/unit_tests/utils/cache_test.py: test_memoized_func_none_cache_timeout (regression test — explicit cache_timeout=None must fall back to CACHE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT), test_memoized_func_custom_cache_timeout (explicit int still wins), test_memoized_func_disabled_cache_timeout (-1 still skips cache.set).

   Tests are included but I was not able to execute the suite locally (environment not available); please rely on CI.

   Closes #42085

Review Comment:
   This looks stale against the current diff, the `cache_timeout is None` fallback is already placed below the `not should_cache` early return, so the `cache=False` bypass never touches `app.config`. `test_memoized_func_skip_cache_pops_cache_timeout` pins exactly that and asserts `mock_config.__getitem__.assert_not_called()`.

   Applied the review point about the config lookup, but not exactly as suggested.

   Moving the `cache_timeout` pop itself below the `should_cache` early return breaks the uncached path. Callers like `DatabaseTablesCommand` pass `cache=` and `cache_timeout=` together, and the decorated functions (`get_all_table_names_in_schema` etc) do not take a `cache_timeout` argument. If the pop happens after the early return, `cache_timeout` stays in kwargs and gets forwarded, so `cache=False` raises TypeError: got an unexpected keyword argument 'cache_timeout'.

   So I kept the pop where it was and moved only the `app.config["CACHE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT"]` lookup below the return. That gets the actual benefit (skipping the cache no longer touches the app config) with no behaviour change. Added a test covering `cache=False, cache_timeout=None` that asserts the config is never read and the wrapped function still runs.

   On CI, the only red job is test-mysql, and it is an unrelated flake: `test_get_saved_query` asserting `changed_on_delta_humanized == 'now'` got 'a second ago'. Timestamp boundary race in the saved query fixture, nothing to do with this change. test-postgres, test-sqlite and unit-tests all passed in the same run.

   <!-- Bito Reply -->
   The flagged issue is correct. Accessing `app.config` before checking `should_cache` forces an application context dependency even when caching is disabled. To resolve this, move the `cache_timeout` logic after the `if not should_cache:` check.

   ```python
               should_cache = kwargs.pop("cache", True)
               force = kwargs.pop("force", False)
               if not should_cache:
                   return f(*args, **kwargs)
               cache_timeout = kwargs.pop("cache_timeout", None)
               if cache_timeout is None:
                   cache_timeout = app.config["CACHE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT"]
   ```

   There are no other comments on this PR to address.

   **superset/utils/cache.py**
   ```
   should_cache = kwargs.pop("cache", True)
               force = kwargs.pop("force", False)
               if not should_cache:
                   return f(*args, **kwargs)
               cache_timeout = kwargs.pop("cache_timeout", None)
               if cache_timeout is None:
                   cache_timeout = app.config["CACHE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT"]
   ```

Review Comment:
   **Suggestion:** Normalize `cache_timeout` only after checking `should_cache`. When callers pass `cache=False`, this new unconditional access to `app.config` makes the bypass path require an active Flask application context and a `CACHE_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT` entry, even though caching was explicitly disabled; it can raise a “Working outside of application context” error before the wrapped function runs. Move the fallback lookup below the early `not should_cache` return. [api mismatch]
