[jira] [Created] (UIMA-2151) The Cas Editor should be split into
two parts
The Cas Editor should be split into two parts
---------------------------------------------
Key: UIMA-2151
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2151
Project: UIMA
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: CasEditor
Reporter: Jörn Kottmann
Assignee: Jörn Kottmann
The Cas Editor is currently defined in one plugin, which makes it impossible to nicely integrate it in RCP apps, where certain things are done differently, e.g. the CAS is loaded from xmi/xcas files in the workspace.
To ease up the integratio into an RCP app and improve the integration into the the eclipse IDE. The Cas Editor eclipse plugin should be split into two plugins one core plugin and an ide plugin.
The core plugin is intended to ease the integration into RCP applications, and the ide plugin is intended for eclipse ide integration, to use the Cas Editor during the development of UIMA related applications.
The issue was discussed prior on the UIMA Dev List:
