   Overall I'm delighted with this PR. Thank you @gyfora for taking this on!
   
   I've interacted with a few people who were confused about some of the details. One set of questions revolves around the lifecycle of the part files, and what to do if you find unfinished files after a job has failed. Adding something about this topic would be helpful, I think.
   
   The other questions I get appear to have been covered already by this PR.
