[jira] [Comment Edited] (CASSANDRA-8637) Update LZ4 library to 1.3.0

Aleksey Yeschenko edited comment on CASSANDRA-8637 at 1/17/15 5:57 PM:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

We do it rarely, and every time after a hard debate. We've been burnt by this before (after a snappy lib update), so unless it's unavoidable, we don't do it.

In this case it's avoidable - only affects IBM Java, and is easily fixable by dropping in the new version of the lib, so, on balance, it makes sense to not upgrade.

> This is a follow up of https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-7573. A fix for https://github.com/jpountz/lz4-java/pull/46 has been released in LZ4 1.3.0. Apache Cassandra is still using 1.2.0. Can this library be upgraded to correct the issue outlined in 7573?
