Bugfix releases as a way of jumpstarting activity?

Hello Giraph Community,

 

In the August 2017 Board meeting, a comment was made:

 

 2017-08-16: (thread)

mt: With several critical bug fixes, is it not worth trying to get a

    release out? Releases generally trigger an uptick in activity

    which might be helpful.

 

What are the plans for the community to consider these comments?
I see that no releases are planned per the current Board report. Isn’t
getting a release out soon a method of jumpstarting community activity?

 

Thoughts are welcomed.
