   Maybe you can bind the instance to your function manually.
   
   For example,
   
   ```js
   function getFormatter(instance, func) {
     return func.bind(instance)
   }
   ```
   
   ```js
   chart1.setOption({
       // ...
       tooltip: {
           formatter: getFormatter(chart1, function() {
               console.log(this)
           })
       },
       // ...
   })
   ```
