Description:
The tarball available from http://archive.apache.org/dist/ws/axis/1_2alpha/axis-1_2alpha-src.tar is missing a .gz suffix, causing confusion and some archiving systems to flag the file as bad and refuse to work with it.

Please add back the .gz suffix.
