SSL modifies my data permanently??

Hi

I'm transferring SecretKeys via xmlrpc (between client, MySql database and some other client),
which works fine as long as I use XmlRpcClient/WebServer. If i use SSL (SecureXmlRpcClient,
SecureWebServer) I can't cast the received byte array back to the original SecretKey object
(!instanceof). How come?
