Solved: using su command in scripts to start Tomcat as non-root user

Summary: Solved: using su command in scripts to start Tomcat as
                    non-root user
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: 5.0.25
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Blocker
          Priority: Other
         Component: Catalina
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: pcgscrap@comcast.net

Something in SuSE 9.1 changed so now the su command doesn't properly work
unless you specify the shell using "-s /bin/bash" (or whatever shell you use).
So older su commands like:

"su myuser -c mycommand" had to change to
"su -s myshell -c mycommand - myuser"

The information from this link:

http://ftp.lug.ro/suse/projects/apache/jakarta-tomcat/8.1-i386/jakarta-tomcat.changes

gave me a clue as to why my script would not work when using the su command.
