summary of UIMA AS issue review meeting
Overview: The UIMA AS trunk has been left unchanged until the release was
approved. Fixes to [mainly] CAS multiplier functionality have been put into
the uima-as-post1st branch to support a project heavily dependent on the use
of scaled out remote CM services and aggregate CM services. First priority
now is to merge the uima-as-post1st branch into the trunk. 1131 appears to
be a regression in the branch that needs to be fixed before the merge.
Identify high priority issues:
844 - important for analysis pipelines with delegates distributed across
WAN.
955 - fixed for different brokers. For the same broker, is most likely a
typo and so needs an informative failure message at startup.
1109/1128 - 1109 needed in order to remove service instances cleanly. Half
of 1128 is duplicate of 1109, the other half (resume) is lower priority.
1120 - to eliminate problems running under Java 6 with out-of-sync clocks.
1130 - to avoid a bottleneck deserializing many replies in a single
thread.
1127 - needs better definition of the implementation
1133 - needs better definition of the implementation
