error co'ing retrieving ws-site

hi all, 

i'm not too familiar with cvs .. can someone help explain what's going
on here: 


cvs server: Updating ws-site/targets/ws-fx/sandesha/docs/index-files
cvs server: failed to create lock directory for
`/home/cvs/ws-site/targets/ws-fx/sandesha/docs/index-files' (/home/
cvs/ws-site/targets/ws-fx/sandesha/docs/index-files/#cvs.lock):
Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository
`/home/cvs/ws-site/targets/ws-fx/sandesha/docs/index-files'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up


i simply issued 

cvs co ws-site

please drop a note to infrastructure AT apache.org. They will need to change the directory
permissions.
