Research Help

Hello,
I'm doing some research on the XML/Soap technology and would like to converse 
with companies/representatives that are actively using it in a business 
environment, preferably using open source technology. Questions would include
What are they doing with XML/Soap? 
What and why software are they using?
Limitations and future expectations of this technology?(Technical 
support,etc.)
Comparison to proprietary software?
etc.
