Avalon mailing list...

The Avalon mailing list is currently avalon-dev@java.apache.org, but the
current CVS status says that it's a Jakarta project (jakarta-avalon*)...

Wouldn't it be wise to change it to avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org?

Thank you for your opinion.

It isn't going to happen.

End of discussion.

I think it is better to move addresses over. I presume a lot of people are
running mail archives of the lists without monitoring the activity.

I'm not subscribed there... Peter, would you take care of blasting everyone
who posts over there and kick them until they don't subscribe on the new
Jakarta lists????

Nope. Someone should send a message to the framework@list.w-d.com and tell
people to re-subscribe. that will help clean out old addresses.

Done, I've set up the following mailing lists:

- avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-user@jakarta.apache.org

All those other are aliases to avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org

- avalon-cvs@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-cornerstone-cvs@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-logkit-cvs@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-phoenix-cvs@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-testlet-cvs@jakarta.apache.org

So, all the CVS putback messages should go straight to the mailing lists.

There are another couple of aliases down there:

- avalon-dev@java.apache.org -> avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org
- avalon-user@java.apache.org -> avalon-user@jakarta.apache.org

Now, it would be fun to subscribe avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org to
java-apache-framework@list.working-dogs.com, so we could start
transitioning. Or, if Jon would kindly provide me with the list of
subscribers, well, I can just inject it down into the new ones...

    Pier

BTW, copied to apmail@apache.org so that everyone knows what changes I made.

I'm going to duplicate all subscribers from the first one to the other, and
put the @java list as an alias to the @jakarta for some time...

Peter, I'll set you as the moderator for that list...

avalon-dev@jakarta.apache.org ;)

Cheers,
