[jira] [Comment Edited] (QPID-5618) Improve site links to JMS
client documentation

Keith Wall edited comment on QPID-5618 at 3/9/14 2:23 PM:
----------------------------------------------------------
I've made changes locally (see attached patch) and publish the rendered results for comment at http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/.
For convenience, I've also summarised the proposals below:
http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/documentation.html
Changes:
* All Qpid JMS client links now point to the components/qpid-jms/index.html
* "Trunk Documentation" link goes to releases/qpid-trunk/index.html
==
http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/resources.html
* Remove Trunk Documentation section
==
http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/components/qpid-jms/index.html
* Breakout separate sections for 1-0, 0-10, and 0-8..0-91 with links accordingly.
(I did wonder if the JMS AMQP 1-0 (prototype) client should be treated as a separate component, with its own rendered examples etc. I decided not to go this way. I think once we have the JMS 2.0 client we should split the JMS component page into two: JMS 1.2 and JMS 2.0.
==
http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/releases/qpid-0.26/
http://people.apache.org/~kwall/transom/head/releases/qpid-trunk/
* Breakout separate links for 1-0, 0-10, and 0-8..0-91

> Currently, the links for the JMS client links on the qpid.apache.org site direct the user to the Programming in Apache Qpid book and the Examples.
> These resources are not suitable for those wishing to use the Qpid AMQP 1-0 (prototype) client, nor are they suitable for those wishing to use the Qpid AMQP 0-10..0-8 client with the 0-91..0-8 protocols (the examples use ADDRs and use some 0-10 features).
> The change will make the following available:
> * the JMS AMQP 1-0 (prototypes) examples
> * the JMS AMQP 0-8..0-91 documentation/examples
