JDK 1.5 performance issues?

Hello!

I facing strange problem after migration to JDK 1.5 from JDK 1.4.2.
For some reason there's a lot of error logs

org.apache.commons.httpclient.ConnectTimeoutException: The host did not accep
t the connection within timeout of 60000 ms

and urls are getting very slow sometimes. With 1.4.2 I didn't have such kind
of problems, is there anything to tune in JDK 1.5 or in HTTPClient (3.0.1)

OS is FC4, JDK 1.5.0
java version "1.5.0_07"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_07-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_07-b03, mixed mode, sharing)


Linux 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp #1 SMP Thu Jun 2 23:08:39 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
