Future of Contenthub / Fusepool ECS / Marmotta
I have a question regarding Apache Stanbol Contenthub [1]. I know that
it is currently neither maintained nor part of the Stanbol 1.0.0
snapshot version.
Would it be better to try to reanimate Contenthub or to look for
something different for non-RDF-resources?
Would Fusepool ECS [2] be a reasonable alternative?
Are there other alternatives? Anything planned for Apache Marmotta?
Cheers,
Andreas

I'm also quite interested in bringing back ContentHub and CMS Adapter.
There have been previous discussion with Reto in the list about Fusepool
ECS integration. I haven't had time to take a deep look to it yet. But
if there are more people interested in reanimate this I'm completely
available to help. We might can start by listing a list of new features
for both components compare to previous version currently hosted at 0.12
branch.
WDYT?

Rafa

It would be convenient to have something like ContentHub/CMS adaptor.
Right now, I'm looking using Stanbol as a front-end to Oracle WebCenter
Content. Process expected is submit content, return annotations, keywords,
links, etc. group/fill-in metadata then check-in. The REST interface
helps nicely.
LDP would come in if the submitted content had a basic context then linking
could be directed to appropriate sources. I'm thinking more along the lines
of projects with multiple contributors/members. As a bonus, if done right
a project could generate it's own taxonomy.
I think a big challenge is to make it easy for annotating content going
into a cms. CMIS interface aside there will always be adjustments needed
checking in content. For instance, Oracle prefers their RIDC.

Sorry, I recently have become used to always write IRI instead of URI.
Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs)

To avoid potential misunderstandings: I want to be able to integrate
binaries such as PDF-files. That seems to involve two tasks:
1. Making the files available using a IRI. I do not need versioning or
other functions usually provided by CMS. But I also need to be able to
delete the file.
2. Analysing that file and making meta-data available as RDF-triples.
Those triples obviously should refer to the IRI created in task 1.

Andreas

Thats a good description. Fast entity lookup is what Stanbol needs and
LDP is missing. So this should be the focus for future developments of
the Entityhub. What I tried to point out is that IMO it would not make
sense to implement LDP on top of the Entityhub (even that it would
most likely be possible).

I thought Entityhub would be essentially about fast lookup based on
string-matching. I don't think this is part of LDP. Where does LDP comes
into play?

Apache Marmotta could be a replacement for the Stanbol Entityhub - as
the functionality of the Entityhub overlaps a lot with Linked Data
Plattform. See STANBOL-1165 for more information. With this
integration users will be able to run Marmotta and access managed data
from the Entityhub.
This will allow to use Marmotta for LDP and SPARQL endpoint and
Stanbol for EntityLinking and dereferencing.
