[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-18445) Let /update handler support JSONL / NDJSON

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-18445?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=18115041#comment-18115041 ]

Andrzej Bialecki commented on SOLR-18445:
-----------------------------------------

Thanks Jan, this is very much needed! Many datasets come in JSONL format.

One suggestion: [https://ndjson.com/definition|https://ndjson.com/definition/] says that neither {{application/x-ndjson}} nor {{application/jsonl}} Content-type is registered with IETF, so I think the handler should support both.

> Today we can POST JSON content to solr in a few formats:
> * Plain JSON, single object
> * Plain JSON, array of objects [\{"id":"1"},\{"id":"2"}]
> * Custom json commands format
> This issue is to support [Newline delimited JSON|https://ndjson.com/] (ND-JSON or JSONL).
> The format may get its own {{/update/ndjson}} endpoint, but more importantly, it will be auto selected on the {{/update}} endpoint if {{Content-Type: application/x-ndjson}} is specified.
