Key: MPMULTIPROJECT-35
Summary: site fails when producing reports - ant:copy - Specify at least one source - a file or a fileset.
Type: Bug
Status: Open
Priority: Major
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven-multiproject-plugin
Versions:

Reporter: Michael Mattox
Created: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 7:03 AM
Updated: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 7:03 AM
Environment: win2k, jdk1.4.2
Description:
We build the multiproject plugin from cvs head yesterday (June 9), so that we could get the fix for the "target/docs" directory creation. But now we notice the reports do not work. It failed on the findbugs report so I commented it out and then I get the same error with the next report. So it appears to be a problem with the multiproject plugin and not the reports. Here is the error:
BUILD FAILED

Based on the line number this failure was in deploy:copy-deps, which is not used in multiproject or any maven plugins any more. It is because there are no dependencies.

I opened a bug with the deploy plugin for this issue:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MPDEPLOY-9
It should not fail if a project has no dependencies. The way it is getting called is this: I have a preGoal on java:prepare-filesystem to copy our dependencies. This works fine on all projects, but when running multiproject:site it fails because my root project is just a template and doesn't have any dependencies.
I'm not sure what you mean that it's not used by multiproject plugin or any other plugin, it is used if a user calls it in the maven.xml.

I reverted back to the multiproject plugin released with RC3 and I'm still getting this error. I'm investigating it, if I have anything new I'll post it here. It's very strange. I thought it might be my maven.xml but I've started commenting stuff out and I still get the error.
