How to serialize this object

I need to pass this object from client to server
and pass it back:

public TransObj {
  private int i;
  private String[] strs;
.........
}

I used org.apache.soap.encoding.soapenc.BeanSerializer
to serializ. But, it failed at
BeanSerializer.marshall.
I think the reason might be I choos a wrong
serializer. What should I do? There is no documents
on how to use them. The API has no info at all.
