Sling Managment console or Felix Managment console?

[Gilles Scokart <gs...@gmail.com>]

Sling comes with a very nice managment console.

What is the dependency between this console and the rest of Sling? Is
this console a pure Felix management console coupled only with the
embeded Felix, or is it more coupled with Sling than it apears to be
at a first glance?

It is not coupled with Sling at all. In fact, the console has been moved
to the Apache Felix project because it may help users of OSGi frameworks
at large not just Sling.

The Console has no dependencies on Sling and in fact as an absolute
minimum only requires an OSGi framework to be deployed in and an active
OSGi HttpService implementation to be able to access the console.

Hope this helps.

Felix

It's the Felix console out of the box, the launchpad/webapp module has
a dependency on org.apache.felix.webconsole-1.0.0.jar to load that
bundle and use it as is.

The console was developed here by our very own Felix, and donated to
the Felix project after we met with the nice Felix folks at ApacheCon
last April and offered it to them.
