[Bug 124171] New: 'Find & Replace' dialog forgets 'Match case' option

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124171

            Bug ID: 124171
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: 'Find & Replace' dialog forgets 'Match case' option
           Product: Writer
           Version: 3.4.0
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: rainerbielefeld_ooo_qa@bielefeldundbuss.de
                CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org

Steps how to reproduce Reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev
– English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1562493 -
2014-01-30]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile:

1. From AOO Start Cente open attached sample.odt
2. Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace' -> Search for "WANT" -> Options = "Match case"
and "Whole words only", nothing else -> [Find]
3. [Yes] for "do you want to continue?"
4. [Ok] "Search Key not found
5. Close dialog with 'Close-X' at top right corner of dialog
6. Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace'
   > Options still "Match case", "Whole words only"
7. Redo same search 2 ... 5
8.  Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace'
   > Options still "Match case", "Whole words only"
9. Redo same search 2 ... 5, but change "Backwards" option (check if
   unchecked or vice versa"
10. 6. Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace'
   > Now option "Match case" has been lost

Additional Info:
----------------
(a) My tests seem to show that it is even more simple:
Always if you change any other option before you close dialog with
'Close-X' or <Esc> or [Close] Options "Match case" will be lost
(b) will not be lost if you close dialog with <control+f>
(d) This might be bothering if you only opened 'Find and Replace' to define
Options "Match case" and "Whole words only" for 'Find Bar', then
[Esc]: "Match case" will be lost
(e) 'a' already reproducible with sever installation of "OOo 3.3.0 English UI
    / German locale [OOO330m20 (Build 9567)]" on WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) DE
(f) 'a' was still ok with OOo 3.2.1
(g) Already reproducible with Pre-3.4.0 (OOo 3.3.0), but because of crippled
Version selector (Bug 123063) no useful info can be contributed

--- Comment #6 from Rainer Bielefeld <ra...@bielefeldundbuss.de> ---
I think my description in original report does not tell clearly at what moment
the 'Backwards' option has to be toggled.

May be better:
1. From AOO Start Center open attached sample1.odt
2. Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace -> Search for "WANT" -> Options = "Match case"'
   You will find it
3. change "Backwards" option (check if unchecked or vice versa)
4. Close 'Find & Replace' dialog
5. Menu 'Edit -> Find & Replace' to reopen dialog
Bug: Option "Match case" has gone

Sample Document

I can reproduce that with 2x WIN7 64 bit and 1x WIN XP 32 Bit, so I am afraid
there is something unclear in my description.

The simple proceeding: Open 'Find & Replace' Dialog -> Check "Match Case" ->
Find something successfully -> Toggle "Backwards" option -> Close 'Find &
Replace' Dialog -> Open 'Find & Replace' Dialog. "Match Case" has gone

--- Comment #4 from beckyfiedler <op...@beckyfiedler.com> ---
I am speaking with SharPorz about her bug report.

I am unable to replicate this issue on AOO 4.0.1 on Win 7, locally installed.

Using Rainer Bielefeld's steps, I repeated the described sequence 3 times. On
the fourth iteration, I checked the Backwards options. On the fifth iteration,
the Match case option was still available.

I chose Match case on first time through the sequence. For the second, third,
and fourth times through the sequence, my Match case selection was preserved.

I chose the Backwards option on the fourth iteration and noticed that my Match
case selection was not preserved.
