FW: [MyGet] Action required - You have 1 important message

Prescott,

I started a dialogue with a colleague at MyGet to see if we can get more storage space for the CI feed.

Is there a Lucene.Net or Apache specific MyGet account? If so, we should probably transfer these feeds to that account, and add storage to it if necessary. If not, I could set one up and add permissions for you and others to manage it, and they will provide enough storage so we don’t have to prune every couple of weeks.

Or if you prefer, we can move the feeds somewhere Apache-specific to manage the storage in-house, but I am not sure if we will be able to forward the URLs, etc. so this doesn’t cause a disruption of feed service.

Thanks,
Shad Storhaug (NightOwl888)

Hi Shad,

Is there a Lucene.net specific account? I can assign a Professional plan to it and you can then safely move the official feed(s) underneath that one if it isn’t already the case. URLs will remain the same, as well as API keys etc.

Cheers,
Maarten

Hi Maarten,

A couple of concerns:

  1. 1GB seems like it will only get us by for a little while. As it is now, I am going through and pruning all of the builds with 0 downloads every couple of weeks just to stay under the quota. Ideally, we could get about 2-3 GB so this doesn’t have to be a regular thing. Do note we are doing all of the building and testing on TeamCity, NuGet is strictly a feed/storage mechanism.
  2. One of the feeds is now in the wild and on the MyGet gallery. The other is used to assist with the Apache formal release process<http://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html>. We would like to keep the same feed names and URLs, but hopefully turn it over to the Lucene.Net-specific MyGet account (and keep all of the current permissions).

Thanks,
Shad Storhaug (NightOwl888)

Hi Shad,

Indeed long time no speak! How are you?

Regarding Lucene.net – would this be sufficient? https://myget.org/opensource (1<https://myget.org/opensource%20(1> GB)
If not let me know and we’ll make something else happen.

Best regards,
Maarten

Maarten,

Long time no speak. I have been busy working on Lucene.Net for the past year or so.

Speaking of which, I am wondering if there is some kind of open source upgrade I can make to my account to increase storage quota. I am running dangerously low on available storage, and it is an ongoing issue. As you can see below, more than 90% of the space is being taken up by the Lucene.Net project (what can I say, it is huge). Every build adds an additional 37MB worth of packages, and the project isn’t even completely ported yet. Despite the project being so big, it is still an open source project, so it doesn’t feel right to have to pay for extra storage just to keep a CI feed going.

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Shad Storhaug (NightOwl888)

[MyGet - Package Management Made Easier]<http://www.myget.org/>

Hello Shad Storhaug,

You are at 97.67 % of your storage quota! (488.34 MB/500 MB)

  * Consider tweaking package retention policies to reclaim storage (learn how<http://docs.myget.org/docs/reference/package-retention>)
  * Upgrade your subscription<https://www.myget.org/pricing> for increased quota

When you reach your storage quota, your feeds will become readonly and you'll no longer be able to:

  * Upload or push new packages to your feeds
  * Mirror new packages from upstream package sources onto your feeds
  * Collect build artifacts (as they can no longer be pushed to your feeds)

Here's an overview of your feeds and their storage consumption:

  *   lucene-net-ci: 73.85 % of total user storage (369.24 MB of 500 MB)
  *   lucene-net-nuget: 17.74 % of total user storage (88.69 MB of 500 MB)
  * mainlandcommercedependencies: 2.53 % of total user storage (12.64 MB of 500 MB)
  *   bobobrowse_net: 1.56 % of total user storage (7.81 MB of 500 MB)
  *   test-choco: 0.73 % of total user storage (3.64 MB of 500 MB)
  *   folding-chair-depot: 0.69 % of total user storage (3.45 MB of 500 MB)
  *   jquery-dirtyforms: 0.34 % of total user storage (1.68 MB of 500 MB)
  *   spatial4n: 0.13 % of total user storage (690.3 KB of 500 MB)
  *   spatial4n-scratch: 0.07 % of total user storage (338.63 KB of 500 MB)
  *   jquery-facebox: 0.03 % of total user storage (175.68 KB of 500 MB)
  *   nuget-port-version-test: 0.00 % of total user storage (17.69 KB of 500 MB)

You can verify your current quota status on your MyGet profile<https://www.myget.org/profile/Me> page, or in your feed details.

Please contact MyGet Support<https://myget.org/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2FSupport> if you have any questions regarding your feed quota.

Happy packaging!

The only feeds I know of are the ones that appear to be the ones you've created (https://www.myget.org/feed/Packages/lucene-net-ci, https://www.myget.org/feed/Packages/lucene-net-nuget). Nothing apache specific to my knowledge.
