file permission + acl preserving

i'm currently looking problem to store /etc and some other files in svn
and look in the archives the following.
http://svn.collab.net/viewcvs/svn/trunk/contrib/client-side/asvn?rev=9996&view=log
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=subversion-dev&m=111459962412224&w=2
http://mirror.brain.org/linux/breser/misc/svn+perms	=> down

i want to know if the branch
http://svn.collab.net/viewcvs/svn/branches/meta-data-versioning/README.TXT?rev=14236&view=log
has any chances to go in trunk ? (seems not on 1.[345] roadmap)

seems to be capable of taking unix user/group/perms ? is there any
solution for unix extended acl ? windows acl ?

thanks
Regards

		Julien

what about selinux context/metadata and other OS (BSD, win, etc.) ?

is it a complete separate project or is there any chance in 1 or 2 years
that code handling metadata will be merge in main svn trunk ?

thanks

Cool! I'd like to see that in practice soon, as I am tired of making not-so-clever-mistakes with my
home-brewn solutions for the same purpose.

Not using ACLs actively now, but this is in the TODO, so will be handy.
Other metadata (MD5 sums, symlinks, atime, mtime, etc.) should go as RFE.

Is the code in C or what?
If it is a language I "speak", I may be of help. i18n issues and testing as well (en,ja,bg,ru,de).

I will not ask if there will ba a pub subversion code repository :-)

Please keep the list posted.

Kalin.
